Echelon Mbadiwe
Echelon Mbadiwe started her acting career as a teen actress. In 2012, at the age of 20, she made her debut in the Nigerian film industry with the movie "Living Nightmare." As an upcoming actress, trying to create a niche for herself, she played a lot of minor roles seeking for that opportunity for a breakthrough.
In 2020, she attained global recognition for her portrayal of Rose in the movie Black Rose when it got acquired by Netflix and released worldwide maintaining a spot on the Top 10 for over 6 weeks. The movie earlier had a limited cinema release in 2018, and earned Echelon multiple accolades, including nominations in the Best Actress (Drama) category at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2018 and Best Actor (Female) award at the ZAFAA Global Awards. She won Best Actor (Female) and Best Discovery Artist at the Golden Movie Awards, Best Female Actor at Coal City Film Festival, all for the movie Black Rose. In 2021, she won the Best Female Performance award at the Eastern Nigeria International Film Festival (ENIFF) for her role in "Yahoo+".
Her subsequent movies--"Love Unusual", "Yahoo Plus", "Memoir", "A Fresh Start", "Laurie", "Lily's New Friend" and many others brought forth a household name with undoubtable talent and incredible delivery. With several movies to her credit, and numerous fans around the world, Echelon has set a targeted launch date of her foundation, El' Echelon, which would give back to the society to help build the younger generation. Echelon has made history with the movie Black Rose as the first Nigerian movie to have shown the longest on Netflix worldwide (2020 till date). She is one of the most desired actresses in Nollywood today.
