Ian Harris
Ian Harris is a writer, director, comedian and editor, whose career began after garnering options on two, feature length comedy spoof screenplays at age 21. He has enjoyed much success as a stand-up comedian, with many TV appearances, including Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, Comedy Central, and TWO, one-hour TV specials. At the age of 28, Ian wrote, produced and directed his first feature film, It Burns When I Laugh, in 8 days on 16mm film for $27,000! Burns played at many film festivals and received rave reviews from magazines such as Backstage West. His films have played festivals from Los Angeles to Wales, Newport Beach to South Africa, receiving numerous awards and accolades; Best Feature Film at the Seattle Underground Film Festival, Best Director award at the 48 Hour Film Project, and dozens more. Ian often uses his fellow comedians in his films and has been lucky to work with many of his favorites such as Chelsea Handler, Bob Odenkirk, Chris Hardwick, Bobby Lee, Steve Schrippa, Bob Oshack, Laura Silverman, Bil Dwyer, Robert Hawkins, and Tom Kenny. In addition to features, shorts, and music videos, Ian has directed five, one-hour comedy specials for other comedians, such as Ty Barnett and Dwayne Perkins, that have been seen on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Showtime and Starz. For nearly seven years, Ian worked as staff and freelance commercial editor for top level post companies such as Mad River Post, Beast, and Union Editorial . He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter, actress Bella Rochelle, where he also owns an MMA gym called Fight Science MMA.
