Lyuben Kanev
Luben Kanev was born as Luben Stoyanov Kanev. He is a Bulgarian actor, best known for his role as inspector Todor Todorov in the BNT 1 TV series, "Undercover" (2011). Also starring in TV series "Ungiven" (2013) and " Znakat Na Bulgarina" (2014).
Kanev graduated acting in 2010 at the Bulgarian National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a student, he won the International Shakespeare Theatrical Prize "Best acting in a leading role" in Beijing, China in 2009 for Brutus in William Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar".
In 2011 he started his career on the stage of the oldest professional Bulgarian theatre, "Plovdiv Drama Theatre" founded in 1881. He made his debut as Torvald Helmer in "A Doll's House" a three-act play written by Henrik Ibsen. During the next few years he has starred in various theatrical performances such as: "The Illusion" written by Pierre Corneille, "Treasure Island" written by Robert Louis Stevenson,"Case, gunpowder" written by Dejan Dukovski. Kanev also played in "The Dumb Waiter" in the role Ben, a play written by Harold Pinter, "Contept" as Jeremy Prokosch a novel by Alberto Moravia and "Agents" in the role of Shelley Levene, (original title Glengarry Glen Ross) a play written by David Mamet.
In 2013 he started his independent theatre career as play-writer and director. He wrote and set "Stop - The Devil is pleading guilty" (2013) and "The Forgotten" (2017).
