Born in Queens and raised in Chicago by Colombian and Italian parents, Giovanni Bejarano is a diverse first-generation American actor, skilled improv player, dancer and martial artist. A bilingual Spanish and English speaker with working knowledge of Italian, Giovanni was classically trained in theatre at Western Illinois University. Giovanni's skills in acting have developed over the last decade in Los Angeles through consistent work coupled with a commitment to training with the most gifted acting teachers and institutions possible such as scene study with Larry Moss and improv at the Upright Citizen's Brigade. The last several years of Giovanni's development have been under the guidance of Lisa Robertson, (another protege of Larry Moss.) The commitment to the ongoing mastery of his craft has shaped Giovanni to be an actor who consistently books work in TV and film, fluidly moving between comedy and drama in and television and film projects. Giovanni has booked roles on over half a dozen television series' plus a series regular on the independent spec. comedy series, Rick's Parking. Giovanni's diverse TV resume includes dozens of credits across genres. He has appeared in studio and independent feature films playing important roles in diverse pictures including the Latino family crime drama, Thou Shall Not Kill aka La Guapa, Lionsgate's boxing drama Counterpunch, and the acclaimed Ron Waters biopic, Mr. Sophistication among many others. In addition to acting, Giovanni is a multi-award winning Salsa Dancer who competes at the professional level. Being a true triple-threat with honed skills in the martial arts has earned Giovanni a blue belt with two stripes in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu; an honor awarded to him under the five-time black belt world champion Romulo Barral.
