Kyle Marra's interest in film started at a very young age. As he stepped into high school, he had two very strong English teachers who inspired him and taught him how to break down a story, examine plot devices, dissect character motivations, and so much more. Though these skills were primarily used on stories in class, he soon began applying them to the films he would watch causing him to start watching movies in a much deeper way. This fueled his interest in the movie making process. He then began researching his favorite films just to read about how they were made. The more he read and watched, the more he wanted to be involved in the process. This led him to pursue acting. His various acting roles gave him many opportunities to be on set and learn about other aspects of the film making process. After spending years learning, and a push from some influential friends, he started Root and Branch Films. Root and Branch Films has allowed him and others to foster their ever-growing film making skills while also creating an environment for actors, writers, editors, cinematographers, costume designers, and graphic designers to express themselves creatively.
