Michelle Murad is an actor, director, writer, singer, and dancer based out of sunny Los Angeles,California. Born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Michelle knew from a very young age that the arts were calling her name. As a young child, she would create elaborate plays in her backyard starring a cast of friends and family. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from the University of Maryland. Soon after her studies, Michelle moved to Los Angeles where she has starred and collaborated on a number of commercial and independent film projects. Her desire for knowledge led her to enter into UCLA's inaugural Program for Acting for the Camera, which she has recently graduated from. Following her graduation, Michelle paired up with writer Ryan Chanatry to create the original series "Jewish By Association," a project that became a semi finalist pick for AMC's new TV Pilot competition. Michelle can currently be seen on the hit Crave TV series LETTERKENNEY. For the past 3 seasons, MICHELLE starred in the sole female lead role of 'Katy.' The show, created by Jared Keeso and Jacob Tierney, just wrapped their 4th season and has gone onto win the Canadian Screen Award for Best Comedy Series, Best Direction in a Comedy Program or Series and Best Writing in a Comedy Program or Series as well as the WGC Screenwriting award for Best TV Comedy. MICHELLE recently wrapped the Netflix feature EL CAMINO CHRISTMAS written and produced by Ted Melfi and directed by David Talbert. She will star as "Kate",a single mother who has been taken hostage by 'Eric' (Luke Grimes) on Christmas Eve in a liquor store with several other locals. The film also stars Tim Allen, Vincent D'Onofrio, Dax Shepard, Jessica Alba and Kimberly Quinn. The film is set to premiere this December. On the film side, MICHELLE can be seen in the independent feature BUCKOUT ROAD opposite Danny Glover and Evan Ross. She will also be seen in the lead role of 'Violet' the independent feature GOLIATH. MICHELLE also starred in the thriller ANTISOCIAL franchise for director Cody Callahan as well as the independent feature THE DROWNSMAN. MICHELLE will also be seen in the upcoming mini-series BAD BLOOD which is based on the Montreal's mob boss Vito Rizzuto. She stars alongside Anthony LaPaglia and Kim Coates. Other television credits include the SyFy pilot THE MACHINE as well as the SyFy mini-series ASENSION, FOUR IN THE MORNING for the CBC, and the FX series THE STRAIN. Michelle was born in Queens, New York and raised in the suburbs of Long Island, NY. She has a litany of experience, both in the corporate world as well as the world of entertainment. She was a social worker and professional plus model for over 10 years (concurrently) landing many campaigns, commercials, and fit modeling gigs. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University in Psychology in 2006. In 2013, she completed her Master's Degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University where she was chosen to give a speech during her MSW commencement. During this time, she conducted a call to action for all attendees. She graduated with credits towards her PhD in Social Welfare. Michelle later decided to put a pin in PhD candidacy after 3 years completed coursework to pursue her creative passions. In doing so, Michelle applied for and was awarded three separate scholarships to attend Upright Citizen's Brigade (UCB) where she completed both their Improv and Sketch programs. Michelle's sketches have since been featured on the UCB main stage in their inaugural UCBLA's Spotlight Presents. She now focuses on creating stories focusing on non-nuanced experiences of black people. Her passion is to create character driven stories that focus on identification, healing, and self-empowerment.

Michelle Newell was born on June 18 1951. She made her television debut in 1972. Four years later she played the ill-fated Mary Seaton in When the Boat Comes In (1976) and in 1983 played Cleopatra, the queen of the Nile, in the BBC series The Cleopatras (1983). She was also the rape victim daughter in Dennis Potter's Brimstone and Treacle (1976), which, although filmed for television in 1976, was not screened until eleven years later. In addition to her stage work, she has written a novel 'Still Falls the Rain' and is married to visual effects designer and artist John Clive (b. London 1953) by whom she has a daughter Florence.

She later moved to the Philippines in 2011 after attaining 2nd place in the 4th Season of a Hit Reality TV Series, The Amazing Race Asia. The petite Chinese actress and host later picked up the Filipino language within a year and became a Video Jockey/TV Host of the Number 1 Music Channel in the Philippines, MYX, among many other notable commercials, magazines and endorsements. Michelle later moved to Los Angeles, California where she was a part of the main cast in the Feature Film, U.Z.L.A. Michelle's mission and passion in acting and hosting continues as she fervently embraces further opportunities that will accentuate her versatility in this journey, wherever it may take her.
