Neko-was born Nicholas James Small on December 5, 2000 in Oroville, Ca. He started preschool at the age of three at Oroville Christian School where he has continued all of his grade school years. When Neko was 11 his mother submitted him for a short film. He was picked as the lead character -Sherman in "Sherman's Heroes". The producer Phil Gonzales received an award for "Best Screenplay". Nick had such a great time filming, his parents continued submitting him for more roles. Not long and he was picked as background for "Dear Dumb Diary" shooting in Salt Lake City, Utah which was a 12 hour drive from home. He later went back for a commercial for. " Foundations For A Better Life". The trips to SLC were too long and so they changed their focus to roles in Los Angeles which was only 7 hours away. After a couple of trips Nick was picked for the role of a football player on Modern Family. A few weeks later he got the lead role as Joshua for a Saddleback Church production and then Young Ned in the film "A Better Place".
